Immigration Enforcement and Family Law
If we want to enforce illegal immigration, then we should take some lessons from enforcement in the area of family law.
I just finished the course in Family Law. Although of not an interest to me personally, I did learn some concepts of family law which can apply to illegal immigration.
Enforcement of Child Support
Specifically, the enforcement of child support is useful in helping us enforce illegal immigration.
Those parents who are delinquent in paying their child support are actively hunted down and prosecuted. In fact, the people who are delinquent in child support are among the most actively hunted, humiliated, and prosecuted law-breakers in the nation.
As you read the list of enforcement methods for those who evade child support, think about using similar methods of enforcement against illegal immigrants and against those wealthy elitists who employ illegal immigrants.
1. Directory of New Hires
Any person hired anywhere is required to have his name sent to a directory of new hires. There are state and national directories, each run by a government agency.
These names are checked against a list of parents who are delinquent in their child support (the list is administered by another agency, usually the Attorney General). If a new-hire is delinquent, then the employer is notified and required to with-hold some of the paycheck.
Imagine if we had a similar system for illegal immigrants. These directories of new-hires already exist. Employers are already required to send this list of new-hires to the agencies managing the directory. If the new-hires can be checked for delinquent child support, surely they can be checked for illegal immigration status.
2. License Revocation
Any person who is delinquent in his child support can have his license suspended or application for a license revoked. This applies to all types of licenses, including: drivers licenses, business licenses, and hunting licenses.
Some of the specific businesses licenses which can be suspended include: contractors license, medical license, and a license to sell alcohol.
Imagine if we suspended all licenses for those who employ illegal immigrants. A construction company loses its contracting license; a restaurant loses its liquor license; a wealthy elitists loses his hunting license. It would all be so simple and effective.
3. Passport Suspension and Denial
Any person who is delinquent in his child support can have his passport suspended or application for a passport revoked. This is done so the person wont be able to flee the nation.
Imagine if we did the same for employers of illegal immigrants. The wealthy elitists love to travel. Without a passport, his traveling days are over.
4. IRS refund with-held
Any person who is delinquent in his child support can have his IRS refund check with-held. This money is used to pay child support.
Think about this: the IRS knows which workers are delinquent in paying child support. If the IRS knows this, surely the IRS can know which workers are illegal immigrants.
5. Unemployment payments with-held
Similar to above, any person who is delinquent in his child support can have part of his unemployment check with-held. This money is used to pay child support.
Again, think about this: the unemployment agency knows which applicants are delinquent in paying child support. If the unemployment agency knows this, surely the unemployment agency can know which applicants are illegal immigrants.
6. Lien on the house
Any person who is delinquent in his child support can have a lien put on his house. This is done so that when the house is sold, the money is used to pay back child support.
Imagine if we put a lien on the home a wealthy elitist who employs illegal immigrants. The wealth elitist has a wonderful home (it is always about personal wealth for those who hire illegal immigrants). We can attach a significant lien to this home. When he sells this house, imagine the money the government can get. This money can be used to defray the costs of jails, health care, and education caused by the very illegal immigrants he hired.
7. Delinquency Placed on Credit Report
Any person who is delinquent in his child support will have a record of their delinquency placed on their credit report.
Imagine if an employer of illegal immigrants had this law-breaking activity on his credit report. They will get a lower credit score, and thus pay higher interest rates on all loans.
Hit the wealthy elitists where it hurts - their money. And remember, this stays on their credit report for 7 years.
8. Public Humiliation
Any person who is delinquent in his child support can be publicly humiliated.
Some states have put the names of delinquent persons on a database, which is publicly accessible. Some states have actually put the pictures of delinquent persons on billboards and in other locations.
It is interesting to note that in general the government stays away from public humiliation, but for this activity, the government is embracing it.
If the state governments actively humiliate these law-breakers, surely the governments could humiliate other types of law-breakers, including the employers of illegal immigrants.
Imagine if we publicly humiliated people who employ illegal immigrants. Persons who employ large numbers of illegal immigrants can have their picture put on billboards, newspapers, and television, for full exposure and disgrace.
Persons who employ illegal immigrants for their personal service at home can have their pictures and names published in local papers and specialized magazines.
All such persons can have their names and pictures in a publicly accessible database. Their specific crime would also be stated (how many illegal immigrants each hired, and for what period of time.)
Imagine the effects of public disgrace on an employer's business. Imagine the effects of public disgrace on an individual's standing in the community.
If we want to enforce illegal immigration, then we should take some lessons from enforcing delinquent child support.
The people who are delinquent in child support are among the most actively hunted, publicly humiliated, and prosecuted law-breakers in the nation. We should actively hunt, publicly humiliate, and fully prosecute illegal immigrants and their employers in much the same way.
The above list of enforcement methods are already used to enforce child support. We can easily use the same methods to enforce illegal immigration.
